“Stained
glass windows from the Church Saint-Sulpice
in Varennes-Jarcy” made by
an artist called Carole BENZAKEN and Duchemin’s
Worshops, according to the
decision of the inhabitants and the councillors
of this town.
Carole BENZAKEM has just been inspired by the
theme of the tree of Jessé, Christ’s
symbolic genegalogy that used to be represented
in the stained glass windows of the
choir of Jarcy, by copying its main symbol:
the tulip.
This showpiece is very important in the history
of the modern stained glass window,
from Marc Chagall in Metz to Pierre Soulages
in Conques.”
